David Hodnett who has been running the NHS App from the start kindly agreed to give us a new webinar on it on Wednesday 8 June at 10:00-11:30 BST. Having recently passed the 28 millionth registration, this is one of the greatest of recent NHS comms achievements.
He kicked off the event with a 20 minute talk on the NHS App, and how its growth has changed patient behaviour. Over the pandemic period, NHS organisations and patients are now demanding more from digital services. Before the pandemic, digital services were slowly being adopted; now they are the default solution, where appropriate.
This was be followed by Dan Collins who explained how suppliers can integrate with the NHS App. This followed on immediately from the NHS App’s publication of ‘integration in a box’, on Tuesday 7th June.
The final talk was due to be given by Matthew Henry on the NHS login and how members can use it to authenticate their users. However the NHS firewall did its best to upset proceedings so David ended up giving it himself.
There was a lively Q&A session, where members quizzed the speakers on key points of their presentations. Then we finished with another brilliant 10 minute summary by Guy Boersma.
The conclusion was that the NHS App offers huge opportunities for DHACA members to integrate with the NHS to help improve patient outcomes. Members are urged to follow up as per the offers made on the webinar, a recording of which is here.
(We have also asked for a copy of the presentations which will be added when received)
